I realize that, once again, I’ve not written any blogs for a little while. Life gets in the way too easily! Anyway, I have managed to get a little bit of sewing done over the last few months and I’m itching to share my makes with you. I’ve actually paused my sewing production at the moment to try and catch up with these blog posts!
This was one of my first makes of 2018…I just never blogged about it! Now I’m catching up with blogging about my makes, I thought that it needed to be shared. In all honesty, I have only made one of these even though I had the intention to make one for each Maisy and Buzz.
Joanns occasionally has great sales on their fleece fabric and I picked up a yard of each shown above. The Westie fabric was going to be the main body fabric and the plain colors were for the lining. These little doggy coats are so easy to make! The only slightly tricky thing was maneuvering 4 layers of fleece under the sewing feet at certain parts.
I made a size medium and it came up slightly short on both dogs. It fit Buzz better but he did not want to keep it on at all…hence why I struggled to get any great photos of them modeling it! I enjoyed making it though! This is definitely one I’m going to keep in mind when thinking about handmade gifts in the future. I mean, who wouldn’t love to receive one of these for their dog!
Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and healthy New Year (and some mum’s time for sewing, too 😉) !!!
xx 🥳
