Sunday Sevens #56

What a lousy week we’ve had! It rained at the start of the week and then went cold and miserable. I didn’t think I would be getting my cardigans and jumpers out this early! With it being miserable, we haven’t actually made it out that much this week so I don’t have very exciting photos. I’ve spent the last few days not feeling great either so I’ve only just got around to commenting and pinning the Sunday Sevens posts from last week – sorry guys! I’m feeling much better today and hoping to be much more productive this week…including blogging about the trousers I made ages ago. ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Maisy decided to hide again and I found her snuggled on a dining room chair.

2. I’m ‘trying’ to make better choices with my food, especially lunches. I’ve had a salad everyday this week with different things each day ๐Ÿ™‚ If you ignore the cheese and potato salad, i’ve been quite healthy!

3. Finished a big batch of artist trading cards. They have been popped in the post today. I’m really looking forward to receiving ones too!

4. Maisy has taken to waiting on the sofa around 4:30pm. She stays there and hangs over the edge or watches over the back for Adam to get home. She doesn’t move until he’s arrived…even if it’s 6pm!

5. Chocolate butterfly buns…yum!

6. Today has been spent wondering what we could do with our living area. I like the side where the tv is; with the units, lamp, pictures & little ornaments – I could possibly put another picture up. BUT the other side with the sofas is just so plain! I have a couple of ideas so just need to remember where things are in the unopened boxes in the garage :-0

  1. Quilt on the wall? I seem to remember you mentioning having some quilt blocks hanging around that you wanted to do something with.

  2. I kind of like starting to nest-down in Autumn, but like you I have an obsession for getting both myself and my children some fresh air every day. Love the photo of Maisy waiting on the sofa, bless!

    1. When it’s cold outside, it’s so much easier to just sit on the sofa and not do anything! I’m keeping myself busy up to now but I think a sofa & blanket day is looming ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. It needs some colour! Why not make some cushions or put a rug down with some colour in it rather than just neutrals. Or add loads of textures if you don’t do colour, like a deep pile rug and chunky knits on the sofas plus a blanket to cosy up with. It’ll make all the difference. It’s funny how Maisy, at such a young age, already knows when Adam is due home and waits for him. Dogs are funny – mine won’t eat if I’m not in the house, even if there are other people at home. I love how you eat salads all week then make a big batch of butterfly cakes!!

    1. So many ideas – thank you! I’ve already put our blue rug back in and it looks so much better already! We have previously had cushions out but the inners have gone quite misshapen so I need to source some new filler cushions. Love the idea of a couple of blankets – I’m going to keep an eye for some when I go shopping ๐Ÿ™‚
Dogs are funny things aren’t they! Yes…the butterfly cakes did put a stop to the healthy eating but I only had 4 out of the 12 I made! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Aw! Bless Maisy – she finds some funny places to hide ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck with the box in the garage rummaging – I went through that when we rented for 14 months.

    1. I can’t wait until we have our own place and everything can have a ‘proper’ place! It’s just taken me a day to find all the Halloween decs!

      1. Thank you! We have decided not to buy anything until we have our green cards, which could take anywhere between 1 – 4 years! We are hoping to rent a house rather than an apartment though next year so I think that will be better for all our belongings! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Maisy’s lookout post is very sweet – is Adam her favourite then?!
I think choosing decor and especially decorative items is tricky, because it’s a fine line between interesting and overload, but too plain can be dull. What ideas do you have?

    1. I don’t think he is her favourite but I know she enjoys a play + cuddle with him when he gets home!
I’ve seen a nice poster online with I may order for the wall and put those vintage licence plates up around it, with some of the vintage sports pennants we have too?! I’ve already put the blue rug back in too!

  6. Oh that poor doggie waiting, bless him he is such a cutie! Not really sure about the advice on decor, your place is amazingly clutter free and mine is not! But love seeing the sewing machine in the corner… awesome!

  7. Aw Maisie! The star as ever! Make her a bright coat and she’ll liven up the other side of the room! My granddad dog used to know when it was Friday night and my parents would be visiting. As soon as coronation st was over he’d be st the front door! He never did it on the other nights it was in tho! Strange!
