A little while ago I began blogging about what my life was like after we moved over to Alabama from the UK. The blog mainly consisted of posts about what I was currently making and eating. Over time, Threads & Bobbins has evolved to be a broad Lifestyle blog with my sewing projects rooted at the core.
I’ve been sewing for a while, dipping in and out of projects whenever time has allowed. Back in school, I completed my Textiles course and did reasonably well. My Grandma had always helped me with projects I had in mind growing up so I feel like sewing has just always been in my life. More recently, I’ve been sewing some of my own clothes…some of which have been great and others not so. But that’s one of the things I love about sewing; it’s a huge learning curve and with every garment I face new challenges.
Having my baby, Rosie, has given me a few more things to explore and ultimately share on my blog. Sewing for babies is more fun than I could have ever imagined and the whole World of Parenting has been so interesting…and another huge learning curve. Being our little family unit has made my heart very warm and full. We love spending time together as a little family so you might see the odd travel post too.
Brand & Company collaboration – I currently create some content for the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network. I am on Sew Over It London’s Pattern Insiders team and have also previously pattern tested and written content for other companies; MariaDenmark/Sewing Life Magazine, Chalk & Notch, AK Patterns, DIBY Club.

Hi! I have awarded you the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! My recent post has all the details… https://afterdarksewing.wordpress.com/2015/06/03/very-inspiring-blogger-award/ … congratulations 😀
Thank you so much for the nomination Beth! I can’t wait to write this post 🙂
Hi Natalie, just found your blog. Love Threads & Bobbins.
I have often wondered what it would be like to relocate and how much of your stash you can get to take with you wherever you go! A few years ago there was a possibility of hubby relocating us to Dubai from the South of England. At the time I was slightly horrified – but it didn’t come off anyway so it didn’t become a reality. Now I think ‘if only’ or perhaps ‘we should have pushed it for a different time of life’. (At the time, son had just started senior school, I had just gone back to ‘real’ work after being a stay at home mum, parents were unwell, timing was just off!) Wish you well in the US.
