For a little while now, we’ve been introducing ourselves to the world of Essential Oils and embracing them into our home and lifestyle. Despite being very skeptical to begin with, I must now admit that I am completely in love and am so interested in learning more about them and their uses.
Having a baby in the house has changed how I’ve been looking at certain things in life. One of my main goals is to move away from chemical living as much as I can. Whilst researching this, I came across Young Living, an Essential Oil company. I’d read a little bit about the company before so I started to do some research into their ethics and standards, and was VERY impressed with what I was reading. I initially wanted something to support my immune system as the seasons changed. Due to breastfeeding, I was very hesitant to take medication every day. Again…more research was done and I decided that I wanted to get started with a few oils and a diffuser. I went to my local supplier and got set up with a Premium Starter Kit, saving over $200! I made it my aim to either use my oils or educate myself on oils every day after buying the kit. I have been so surprised at how many different uses they have. So that brings me to write this blog post. I want to share with you what Essential Oils are!
I decided to update my ‘about’ page so thought I would also publish it as a little blog post too. Enjoy!
A little while ago I began blogging about what my life was like after we moved over to Alabama from the UK. The blog mainly consisted of posts about what I was currently making and eating. Over time, Threads & Bobbins has evolved to be a broad Lifestyle blog with my sewing projects at the core.
I’ve been sewing for a while, dipping in and out of projects whenever time has allowed. Back in school, I completed my Textiles course and did reasonably well. My Grandma had always helped me with projects I had in mind growing up so I feel like sewing has just always been in my life. More recently, I’ve been sewing some of my own clothes…some of which have been great and others not so. But that’s one of the things I love about sewing; it’s a huge learning curve and with every garment I face new challenges.
More often than not, my Sunday Sevens posts have been catch-up posts rather than weekly but that’s the great thing…Sunday Sevens doesn’t have to be regular…thankfully!
I’ve found that life is just flying by recently. Rosie turns 6 months this week and our days together have yet to be boring. She is amazing us with how many new things she is learning and what she manages to do. We’ve finally got a little bit of a routine together where we try to get out of the house at least once every day. I’ve found a very good local Mom’s Fitness group where the kids can come along while the parents take part in a class. I park Rosie at the side of the hall and she watches everything that is going on. Occasionally she gets a bit cranky but it’s so relaxed there, I really don’t feel awkward if she does happen to cry.
Our first Talented Tuesday Link Party of the year is actually our tenth week running. We are getting more and more links each week so be sure to check out the features and link up your post at the bottom of the page! I’m looking forward to getting back into my normal routine after our parents go home. We have loved having them stay and they have enjoyed their first visit to the USA 🙂
