I’ve seen a couple of goal blog posts before, mainly over on Handmade By Hannah, and I always feel very inspired after reading them. There’s something about writing things down and almost being accountable for them…even if it is only in the blogging world!
So here are my goals for June 2015! I will review the goals at the start of July and set some more. 🙂
Do you set goals for yourself? Do you write them down anywhere? It would be great to hear what you think to my goals…hopefully they are achievable!
1. I started this Westie cross-stitch ages ago. I got this from my Grandma for my birthday in December and I feel like it should be done by now as it is very small! I need to get it finished & framed by the end of June!
2. I have this book to finish & review. I’ve read a few pages but seem to have lost my reading mojo so I want to get it back!
3. Sew 3 garments from my vintage pattern stash. Can you guess which views I will be making?
4. Sew a garment from the Gertie book & 2 Cynthia Rowley dresses.
5. Start doing more to increase my fitness level. This is a little vague, but at the moment my exercise level is almost at zero; possibly at level one because I walk the dog!
6. Bake some victoria sponge cupcakes 🙂
Tune in at the start of July and I will review these goals, and make more! Woohoo for making goals!
I have both of those Cynthia’s! Which views are you planning? Fabric? We could do a sew along! I haven’t made anything from Gertie yet either! Great goals for June and I think you will feel very accomplished if you meet them all, I remember you delight in list making and ticking things off :-))
I was thinking about doing the the view A shirtdress + maybe seeing if I can squeeze a shirt of a shorter cut of fabric! And view B or C from the one at the back – probably using some of the cotton I bought! A sew along would be great! 🙂
I have the Cynthia at the back too! Was hoping to get it done for an event last month but ran out of time. I’m planning View C (very cute). I’d be interested in the sewalong too 🙂
It is a very cute pattern isn’t it?! I will let you know when Camilla & I are planning to start 🙂
Awesome!
That kind of seems like a lot for three weeks . . . everybody’s different, but 2 garments a week would be a lot for me personally, especially with all the other stuff you’re doing. Then again, some people need to set their goals high to get moving–motivation seems to be different for each person.
I tend to feel overwhelmed when I think about whole projects (I have to do all those steps! ACK!), so I like to set process goals, like reading a chapter a day or sewing for 30 minutes a day. If I’m into it that day, I can do more than the 30 minutes, but even that minimum of 30 minutes will keep me moving toward my end point. It helps to keep me from getting stuck because I’m fretting about this GIANT PROJECT I have hanging over head.
Hopefully, you aren’t as nutty as I am, but that works for me. 😉
I think it does sound like a lot but I’m hoping I will be able to manage it! After thinking about how much time I’ve spent recently just sitting on the sofa and watching tv, I’m planning on using that time more productively instead 🙂
I’ve done process goals before too and think that they are great for hobbies and fitness etc. I’ll just have to see how I get on with these goals…I might have significantly reduced my goals by the time the next post comes around!
Hi, lovely post. Good luck with your goals. I definitely, definitely need goals to get anything done. I spent the last year or so working towards my wedding dress (:O) but now that it’s done I’m at such a loose end! Great idea writing a post about your goals too; then you know other people have seen them and there’s more incentive to get them done 😉
That sounds like a good list which would take me to Christmas to complete. I am doing 15 for 2015, with updates at the end of every month, and great fun it is too. Good luck with your goals.
Good luck, look forward to seeing the finished results!
You go girl!! Crafting is not so great for the ol’ love handles… I’m determined to do 10 minutes of Pilates everyday this month!! I love that NEW LOOK pattern, I’m guessing avec shoulder straps?!
Gosh! Looks like you’ll be busy! That’s a lot of sewing!
I’m trying to move more at the minute – I have a step counter on my phone and I was shocked to see how sedate my life is, except when I golf. Instead of spending hours at a time I now try and go for a 15 minute walk every 1 1/2 hours to get the blood flowing again! Maybe I need to borrow a dog! 😃
It does look like a lot doesn’t it!! I’m still hoping to get it all done though 🙂 A dog would be perfect for you!! I like the idea of step counters but I already know that I don’t do enough! Haha!
