This book by Samantha Hayes and is my most recent pick from Blogging For Books. What You Left Behnd is a crime thriller book, which is one of my favourite genres. I have had the book for a while now and I must admit that it took me a good few chapters to get interested in the storyline. But, once I was hooked, I could not put it down and read the rest of the book quickly!
I don’t want to give too much of the plot away! The book appealed to me more as it is based in the UK and has quite a few references to current lifestyles & technology. To me this always helps with visualisation. The chapters are short, allowing for a good reading pace. There are a lot of characters introduced in a short amount of time; I did get a couple of them mixed up to begin with!
The events in the story allow a lot of wondering to happen, which makes the ending even better! Suspense is built in each chapter allowing the reader to want more. Some things within the story are more obvious to guess than others but a lot of the plot still surprised me.
A good read for a quick thriller fix.
