For a little while now, we’ve been introducing ourselves to the world of Essential Oils and embracing them into our home and lifestyle. Despite being very skeptical to begin with, I must now admit that I am completely in love and am so interested in learning more about them and their uses.
Having a baby in the house has changed how I’ve been looking at certain things in life. One of my main goals is to move away from chemical living as much as I can. Whilst researching this, I came across Young Living, an Essential Oil company. I’d read a little bit about the company before so I started to do some research into their ethics and standards, and was VERY impressed with what I was reading. I initially wanted something to support my immune system as the seasons changed. Due to breastfeeding, I was very hesitant to take medication every day. Again…more research was done and I decided that I wanted to get started with a few oils and a diffuser. I went to my local supplier and got set up with a Premium Starter Kit, saving over $200! I made it my aim to either use my oils or educate myself on oils every day after buying the kit. I have been so surprised at how many different uses they have. So that brings me to write this blog post. I want to share with you what Essential Oils are!
Essentials oils are the most powerful part of a plant. They are the product of a distillation process which uses all the “gubbins” of a plant.
“Essential oils have enhanced lives for thousands of years, offering a variety of benefits from cosmetic and dietary purposes to spiritual and religious use. Young Living has always been at the forefront of bringing this ancient tradition to modern users, introducing millions to emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness that can be truly life-changing.
Extracted through careful steam distillation, resin tapping, and cold pressing, the purest essential oils are far more powerful than the botanicals from which they come. Any time you hold a bottle of Young Living’s powerful essential oils, you hold nature’s pure essence.“
There are 3 ways to use essential oils: aromatically, topically and internally. Up to now, we have only touched the surface of oils but we’ve managed to give each method of use a go. We like to diffuse our oils and love to create new recipes for aromatic use. I’ve looked at and made a few great recipes for different DIY products to apply topically. My favorite is a nourishing face serum that I’l blog about soon. Young Living also has a Vitality line for ingestion. These oils can be used to add a splash of flavor to food and water. Again, I’ll be blogging some of my favorite recipes at some point! In addition to their oils, they also have lots of other products that just promote wellness and support healthy lifestyles.
I would love to know if you use essential oils or any of the other Young Living products. I’m always looking for product testimonials and new things to try myself. If you want to check any of these products out, follow this link to browse the Young Living site and for membership options.
To round this blog up, I want to finish by simply saying thank you! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Whether you’re reading about oils, sewing or parenting…I appreciate it. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or leave me a comment. I post a lot over on Instagram so head over there to check everything out too.
