Goals: January 2016

I sat down last week to review the goals that I set for myself in December and realised that even though I only set four small goals, I was probably a little ambitious given the Christmas season, my parents coming to stay, us taking a holiday & getting a new puppy!  With that being said, this post is quite a short one as I didn’t really make that much progress on the goals set in December!

Goals for January:

  1.  I’m almost finished with one more colour on the Westie cross  stitch!  I’ve not included a photo this time around as you really can’t see the colour progress!

2.  The vintage dress didn’t get finished in December so that remains on my list of makes.  I also need to repair a doggy car seat, make covers for dog crate mats & make some coasters for our living room using the fabric I received in my #stitchingsanta present.

Hello There 2016!

A new year means a ‘new year’ post of course.  I’ve already read lots of resolution, goal & list posts and I must admit that I really enjoy reading them.  I find it so interesting to see how people evaluate their lives and review them to move forward in the following year.

The last year was the first full year where I blogged from January to December.  I’ve really loved every minute of it.  When I started blogging, I originally thought that my blog would be based on sewing and travelling; however, i’ve found that my Sunday Sevens and monthly goals posts have added more of a broader lifestyle theme to the blog with sewing running through too.  I’ve also enjoyed reviewing a few products here and there, and I do feel like I’ve only chosen things to review that I like rather than whatever is available out there.

Thank You Stitching Santa!

The office for our apartments closed for Christmas.  Of course, my #stitchingsanta present was delivered on the final day they were open…when I was out and I didn’t get back in time to pick it up before they closed! 😦  I was sad because I knew we were going away the morning after Christmas so I wouldn’t be able to open it until we got back on the 29th!!! Can you guess what I did first when we got back from Vegas??  I OPENED IT OF COURSE!!

Now my stitching santa was lovely Abi over at The Freckled Fashionista!  Abi did sooooo well putting the gifts together and I absolutely LOVE everything! Thank you so much Abi!

I did have a sneaky suspicion that Abi was my santa.  She posted a blog post with some presents wrapped with doggy paper and some English themed fabric.  Well, I have a dog, I lived in England and I now live in the US so I thought that it may be for me and it was!  I was so pleased when I opened the parcel because everything was wrapped up brilliantly – the wrapping paper was gorgeous!

A Plethora of Presents

December was a good month.  It was my birthday, Christmas and the time when our parents began their visit.  All of these meant that we/I were given a lot of presents, which was lovely and very kind of the ‘givers’.  I wanted to share a few of the items received as many of them are sewing related or quite unique.

First up, Adam got me this super cool Alexander Henry fabric.  There is a yard so I’m hoping to make a bag or a top out of it.
