Thank You Stitching Santa!

The office for our apartments closed for Christmas.  Of course, my #stitchingsanta present was delivered on the final day they were open…when I was out and I didn’t get back in time to pick it up before they closed! 😦  I was sad because I knew we were going away the morning after Christmas so I wouldn’t be able to open it until we got back on the 29th!!! Can you guess what I did first when we got back from Vegas??  I OPENED IT OF COURSE!!

Now my stitching santa was lovely Abi over at The Freckled Fashionista!  Abi did sooooo well putting the gifts together and I absolutely LOVE everything! Thank you so much Abi!

I did have a sneaky suspicion that Abi was my santa.  She posted a blog post with some presents wrapped with doggy paper and some English themed fabric.  Well, I have a dog, I lived in England and I now live in the US so I thought that it may be for me and it was!  I was so pleased when I opened the parcel because everything was wrapped up brilliantly – the wrapping paper was gorgeous!

Abi had attached a little note to each gift to explain why she had chosen that particular gift.  🙂  Upon opening the parcel, a Yankee aroma filled the air as there were 2 wax melts within the parcel – how did she know about my love of everything Yankee?!  I thought the Christmas card was really cute too; a design I may even have a go at making next year!

The first things I opened were 2 gorgeous pieces of flannel; one with the London theme & another with buttons (the closest she could find that was linked to Threads & BobbIns – great idea!).  I already have a few ideas for these fabrics so watch this space!

I then opened 2 fat quarters and piece of pink geometric print fabric, all of which coordinate really nicely!  I’m going to make some quilted coasters for our living room with these fabrics & possibly squeeze a zippered pouch or two too.

Abi had made and included 4 drawstring pouches for me – these are perfect to help organise my sewing notions!

The next gift I opened was this gorgeous sewing themed tote!  I had already seen these in my local craft store and had put one on my list to buy on my next visit – Abi must be psychic!

My blog archives were trawled through for the next present – some beautiful teal yarn for crocheting.  This couldn’t have come at a better time as one of my early projects for 2016 is going to be a blanket as I’ve not done any crocheting for a while, and I’m now going to start it with this colour! 🙂

So, I got quite a pile of perfect presents that were all picked so well!  Once again, I loved both the sending and receiving of the #stitchingsanta gifts this year – thank you again Sheila (Sewchet) for organising! And another HUGE thank you to Abi for all my wonderful presents – a great start to crafting into 2016! 😀

  1. Lots of lovely gifts that a lot of time and effort must have gone into choosing. I love the fabric choices and the colour of that yarn is so pretty. Do you have a pattern for a crochet blanket or are you on the lookout?

    1. Yes I think all of the gifts have been chosen carefully, so lovely! I think I’m just going to crochet a big stripey circle between dc’s and tic’s and those shell cluster things!

  2. Fabulous! I love the London flannel, and that yarn is the most yummy color! Abi certainly got it right with this selection, didn’t she? Watching for your new creations……….

  3. Waiting so long to open it must have been agony!! Worth it though, Abi has obviously spent ages browsing your blog to see what you would like. I love the thoughtfulness of the London fabric and the buttons fabric – can’t wait to see what you make with those:)

Let me know what you think...
