Corduroy, Cotton Lawn & Florals…Oh My!

So many shop updates!

But to be honest, it wasn’t quite planned like that.  In my organized mind, I had ordered products and arranged for deliveries every couple of weeks so that I could have a little stream of new products arriving for you all.

Working with vendors is completely new to me, so it’s taken me a couple of efforts to get used to delivery times.  Hurricane Sally blew in a couple of weeks ago and really threw a spanner in the works.  Some of our deliveries were delayed and some showed up early…which actually meant that a lot of new products arrived over two days rather than over 6 weeks! No complaints here because everything new is absolutely gorgeous but it’s taken me a minute to get everything listed.  If you want to go straight to all the lovely newness, click below.

First of all, a good stock of fabrics is now on the site; there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
We got some gorgeous corduroy fabric in.  Its quite lightweight and not too stiff.  I feel like it still holds a little bit of drape all while having a light hand.  This would be perfect for a jacket, skirt, pants and even children clothing.  I’m thinking about making a couple of Poppy & Jazz Willow Pinafores for my daughter with it.  Maybe even a matching one for me too!

I also listed a beautiful collection from designer Marketa Stengl.  Marketa is a popular designer over on Spoonflower, but has recently partnered with a fabric distributor to release a small range of fabrics…these are at a nicer price point too! I just ordered 2 of each type to begin with as I wanted to have a feel at the quality before I ordered more.  There’s a double brushed poly knit fabric and a quilting weight cotton.  I am pleased to report that both are fantastic.  Check the designs out below.

There’s a few other fabrics that have been listed so definitely have a good explore over there.  There is only a few yards of the pink tie dye rib knit jersey left but I do still have plenty of the blue/grey version left.  Theres also a few great cottons from Lewis & Irene, and a small assortment from Monaluna.

In addition to fabric, I have also listed a few patterns from both Sew Over It and their Kid’s range, Poppy & Jazz.  There’s some new notions and a beautiful 30 day embroidery sampler kit too.

Just to finish off, I wanted to thank you for your support!  Your likes, shares, and orders all mean so much to me.  This little shop of mine has been in the pipeline for quite a while and I’m still in a little disbelief that I’ve managed to open it up, and during a pandemic at that!

Don’t forget, you can still use coupon BLOGLAUNCH10 for 10% off your order until the 31st of October!

Thank you again, and have a great week!

My Online Sewing Store Has Launched!

That’s right…you read that correctly! My very own online sewing store has launched. I actually launched on Monday, and this post was supposed to go up on Monday also but plans quickly changed.

In my mind, I was launching in the morning, and then when I got home from work, I was going to release the blog and chat about some products. In fact, I’d planned for most of this week to be about different products and what was going to be coming in. On Monday evening, Adam & I actually found ourselves hanging our hurricane shutters in preparation for Hurricane Sally.

…and boy did she show up! Hurricane Sally was very slow moving and sat over us for at least 10 hours. It sounded like a train was next to our house all night and through to the morning. The winds got up to 125mph and the rain was unbelievable. Luckily, we ended up with minimal house and property damage but our local areas really suffered. Some of our local cities may be without power for weeks and we have hundreds of line crews working around the clock to make everything right again. We were without power for almost 48hrs, which is nothing to complain about at all. It also meant that we couldn’t access the internet for 48hrs either, and to be honest, that was an almost welcomed break!

Anyway, the site is live and I’m now packing orders! I’m stocking fabrics, sewing patterns from UK designers, accessories, notions and I’ll have a few sewing related gifts on there too.

At the moment, there’s just a small selection of fabric but I am waiting on more deliveries this week. I wanted to stock some fabrics with UK designers in mind so I have some arriving from Dashwood Studios, Lewis & Irene and Liberty!

In terms of sewing patterns, I have a good range from Tilly and The Buttons, and Sew Over It Patterns are being listed as I type. I’ve also got Poppy & Jazz children’s patterns and hope to be finalizing orders from a couple of other UK designers soon.

I’m always on the lookout for great quality notions and I fell in love with Clover a little while ago. I have a small range of their notions on the site too; pins, wonder clips, chaco liner pens, tube turners etc. There’s a few other notions on there too so have a good explore!

I also stock a small range of accessories from Pink Coat Club. I have some gorgeous labels, stickers and pins…in fact one pin has already sold out!

Feel free to check out what I have listed, and keep checking back to see more stock updates! And for getting to the bottom of this blog post, please feel free to use discount code BLOGLAUNCH10 for 10% off your first order!

Rainy Sunday: Baby Monitors, Baby Gap Haul, Rosie’s Closet & Sewing Aprons

A couple of weeks ago we had a Sunday at home as it was a little rainy. This is my first ‘proper’ vlog. I’ve shared a Gap haul, showed Rosie’s closet and talked about how I made some aprons. I need some baby monitor recommendations too. Enjoy!

Sunday Sevens #95

Would you look at this! I’ve managed to get another seven photos this week for a Sunday Sevens blog. :-).

1. It seems like we are visiting our favorite breakfast place quite often now, which I don’t mind at all. It does make me laugh though that we have to specifically request some milk with our English Breakfast tea. The girls behind the counter think it’s quite odd every time we ask!

Two Cocos…better late than never!

Finally a sewing blog and an overdue one at that!  For Christmas, Camilla bought me the Coco & Bettine patterns.  I had resisted buying them for myself for so long and I really don’t know why, especially now I’ve made them and LOVE them!  This blog post is slightly overdue as I made the first Coco top back in February and my finished my second one in June.

I don’t have a lot of experience with knit fabrics so I was a little apprehensive.  The pattern instructions were so easy to work through and the color pictures made an excellent addition.Untitled
