After looking at the our living area last week I decided to have a bit of an apartment sort out! I’ve been planning pictures for walls, rugs & curtains so I’m excited to get it all sorted over the next couple of weeks and show you all. 🙂 Thank you for all the suggestions for our living room last week; it’s slowly coming together. In-between internet shopping i’ve managed to get the following photos for you:
1. I started a job that I had been putting off for a while: altering quilt covers. We had all of our bedding sets shipped across to us but not our quilt…I didn’t realise that the sizing would be different and I not can’t find a quilt to fit all the covers I have. Well I did find one but it was $300+!! We did have a small quilt shipped across so I have decided to alter the big covers to fit the small quilt and keep them for the spare room. Maisy has been camped on the pile all week!
This space is in our new apartment. As soon as I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for a sewing/ craft space! My sewing machine could be out, I could put some shelves up and organise everything nicely. However, I then realised that the space is directly opposite the kitchen and is included in the hallway space. I don’t mind being in the way of walking down the hallway as it’s only Adam who would be walking past but I’m worried about kitchen smells. Do I really want to be sewing a lovely dress and then cooking chicken fajitas mid make?
We had some awesome posts linked up last week! I have added projects to my to do list and many recipes to my menus. I have a lot of projects to catch up with this week. It seems like I start a bunch of projects all at once and then don’t manage to finish any of them, so that’s what I will be up to this week. Keep a look out on my blog for sewing, scrapbooking & reviews 🙂
Bedrooms are the space most people spend the most time in. They’re a personal space ideal for expressing yourself in any way you want. Most of all, bedrooms are a person’s sanctuary. So here are some ideas to make your space extra cozy:
1. A Shaggy Rug
Your bed might be the warmest, toastiest thing in the world every morning, but the floor doesn’t always want to agree. Save yourself from that cold shock by waking up to a nice fuzzy rug beneath your feet.
Have you ever dreamed about having certain pieces of furniture? I have….in fact there are many types of furniture out there in the world that I have always wanted but not quite got to owning yet. A dressing table is one of those fine pieces of furniture I have often thought about and dreamed of sitting at.
Our house in the UK is a 2/3 bedroomed bungalow, on the corner of a road with a sweet wrap around garden. It is our first home together, after spending almost 7 years between our parent’s houses. I couldn’t wait to get in and start organising, decorating and putting our personalities into it. I found it a lot harder than I originally thought it would be!
Our bedroom was the first room we gutted; I say gutted because I don’t think it had been decorated since it was built in 1970! We soon found out that everything needed doing in every room; plastering, re-wiring, woodwork, painting etc. The largest room, where we have our bedroom, is a simple long rectangle with a large window covering the width of one of the short walls. Due to the window placements, the bed was hard to position as we didn’t want furniture to cover the big window and we just didn’t know what to put where! We certainly didn’t have room to put a dressing table anywhere!
Our rented apartment in the US almost has the same square footage as our bungalow in the UK! It came fully furnished but no dressing table! We have room for a dressing table but we are only here for a year so again I can’t really buy one! I am sure that you can imagine my frustration :-0
I have put together a list of my favourite dressing tables. If I ever had an eight bedroomed house, I would buy all 8 of these 🙂 If I ever get to buy 1 of these…I will let you know!
