My #2018MakeNine Plans + Youtube Vlog

Last year I meant to get involved with Make Nine but completely forgot to put them together. Probably for the best really as I hardly sewed a thing. As I’ve got more time this year, I decided to give the #2018MakeNine a go. I do love this idea and I think it originally stemmed from Rochelle over at the Lucky Lucille/Home Row Fibre Co, whose blog I’ve been following for quite a while now. If you haven’t read it already, her blog post outlines the challenge really well and has some great questions to help you decide what you would like to make. I like the idea of the challenge as it holds me accountable and gives me a rough plan for the year. I also like that it’s not set in stone either. My plans may change or I may even make more, but for now it gives me a plan to follow.

Here’s To 2018

Happy New Year to everyone!

2017 ended a little differently for us this year as we became parents!  At the end of October I was put on bedrest & given some medication to keep Rosie cooking for a little while longer.  Once I came off the medication, she decided to come 2 weeks early and was born on the 20th November.  She is just so precious and we are absolutely loving every moment with her…even the sleepless nights…sort of!

New Look 6413 – View C

I had a piece of black crepe type fabric that was next on my list to use.  I knew that I wanted make a dress for work so I needed it to be comfortable and cool.  I took to Facebook and Instagram to vote between the Tilly & The Buttons Bettine, New Look 6413 or Butterick B6205.  It was decided that I should make the New Look 6413, and I actually chose view C.  View C had the shorter sleeves and longer skirt length.

Two Cocos…better late than never!

Finally a sewing blog and an overdue one at that!  For Christmas, Camilla bought me the Coco & Bettine patterns.  I had resisted buying them for myself for so long and I really don’t know why, especially now I’ve made them and LOVE them!  This blog post is slightly overdue as I made the first Coco top back in February and my finished my second one in June.

I don’t have a lot of experience with knit fabrics so I was a little apprehensive.  The pattern instructions were so easy to work through and the color pictures made an excellent addition.Untitled

Sunday Sevens #92 – Catch Up Time!

Surprise Surprise! Here I am doing a Sunday Sevens post…on a Sunday (well in my half of the world anyway)…the last Sunday Sevens post I wrote was back in August! Crazy!  Well, here I am writing another and I’m hoping that they will become a little more regular.  I’m really trying with my time management at the moment!

The last ‘homey’ style blog I wrote was about our trip to California.  I’ve done quite a bit since then so here’s a few catch up photos. 🙂

Here’s your Maisy & Buzz fix.  Still as cute and cheeky as ever!

Our New Home!

After our Green Cards were approved back in June (yey us!), we knew that we wanted to start looking at houses.  As much as we had liked our apartment, we were getting to the stage where we felt very restricted and watched.  The dogs had no immediate place to run around together and I did feel a little awkward heading out with them first thing in my pyjamas, because let’s face it…not everyone gets dressed as soon as they wake up! 🙂 In addition to this, renting was just killing us.  It’s so expensive to rent and there’s nothing that we get to keep as the end result.
