Last week was the first week of my big health kick! I’m hoping to eat healthier and work out more – I’ve even signed up for a glow in the dark foam 5k run…eeekk! Maisy and Buzz have had their first full week with only Adam and I in the apartment, and I’m so pleased that they are getting along nicely. I don’t quite agree with them waking me up at 7am though!
1. My new combination cooker arrived! ๐ It’s a pressure cooker and a slow cooker; I’m already in love with it! I have so much more motivation in a morning and I prefer to prepare our meals then, so slow cooker cooking is perfect for me!
2. Maisy has learnt to share her favourite squirrel viewing spot with Buzz.
3. I made a start on my Frances dress. The pattern and the floral fabric were birthday gifts from Camilla & I’m doing the collar and plackets in the green arrow fabric I used last year as a lining for a dress – I’m really excited about this one as it’s my first make of the year and I’m already in love with it!
4. I’ve worked out 4 times at home this week! I’m actually really pleased with how my fitness has progressed already and it’s only been a week! I’m even going to look at joining a local gym this week. ๐
5. Buzz has learnt to sit…almost on command!
6. Salad! Healthier than fries right?! Ha!
7. Best friends already!

I have a slow cooker too.I wouldn’t be without it now.Made Rancheros pie for tea which was so good. You can make lots of healthy chickee dishes in them too. Love how your dogs are keeping an eye on the squirrels.
I have a recipe for Rancheros pie too so I’m hoping to try it soon! Yes, the dogs love to watch the squirrels – when one comes near they go absolutely crazy at the window!
Ha yeh i saw your picture of them on guard by the window. ๐ Rancheros pie is one of my slow cooker faves.
Maisy must watch out Buzz is stealing my heart. So impressed about your healthy start to the year.
Thank you! Buzz is a little sweetheart but believe me, he can also be a little terror!
So nice to see the dogs enjoying each other’s company. Our dogs are real people animals, but they are so close to each other and always cuddle up together. A good healthy start is being continued I see – keep it up!
I really am glad that they are friends! They aren’t yet at the close cuddling stage but I’m hoping it comes when they are a little older. ๐
It will. It took a good few months of our puppy, desperate for some skin-to-skin, to be accepted by our then 11 year old Yorkie. Now, they cuddle up together and it’s hard to see where one dog ends and the other begins!
Buzz and Maisy are so cute together. That salad looks very appealing!
Thank you – it’s a really simple one that I just add a dressing & meat to each time! Buzz and Maisy are very cute – they can both be very mischievous but their sweet faces make up for it ๐
You doing fab with the health drive, keep up the good work! Maisy looks proper chilled, has her barking quietened with the arrival of Buzz?
Thank you! Maisy has quietened down a little – now Buzz seems to have little dog syndrome and has THE loudest bark I’ve ever heard!
Aw! Buzz and Maisy are so cute together. So glad they’ve become good friends so quickly. And well done to you on the health front. Good luck wit the gym!
Thank you! I feel so much better already ๐ The dogs are very cute together, don’t let their cute looks fool you though! They are little terrors sometimes!
No worries, I’m not fooled and I bet they stand there telling you it was the other one that did it ๐
Of course they do! ๐
๐
OMG that comination cooker looks amazing. I have a slow cooker and pressure cooker. Didn’t know you could combine them. That’d save on cupboard space!
It is the best one I’ve ever used Beth! It has a sautรฉ function too, so I can cook the onions and brown the meat before switching the slow cooker function on! I’m sure they sell this brand in the UK too ๐
Good job on the health front! You’re making great progress already, and that salad looks delicious. Such good little buddies! (is that Buzz on the pillow?)
Thank you! Buzz is the smaller one on the top of the sofa & Maisy is the larger curly pup ๐
Of course, now I can see so clearly. Let’s hope he doesn’t get curly as he grows, or you’ll have to keep them in special identifying collars for me! ๐
Well done on the health-kick start to the year! Hope you manage to keep it up ๐
Thank you!
Loving seeing Buzz & Maisy – what a pair of cuties. Good luck on your health/fitness regime ๐
