Review: HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care Collection

I recently got the opportunity to review the HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care  Collection.  I was already familiar with the HASK brand but had never actually used it myself.   My local beauty stores sell it and I’ve been tempted to purchase it a couple of times based on the smell alone!

I was sent 4 items to review:

  • Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Shampoo
  • Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Conditioner
  • Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner
  • Macadamia Shine Oil Treatment

I also got a HASK mini hairbrush as a little extra! 🙂

The macadamia oil range is aimed at people who have dry, damaged or over-processed hair.  Well, luckily enough for me (!!) my hair is all three!  I can have my hair cut and by the time it comes around to the next wash, it can be full of split ends, dry and brittle.  I always love hair products that allow my hair to feel smooth, look silky and smell delicious!

I’ve used the HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner three times now and I’ve fallen in love with it so much!  The shampoo lathers up really well and I’ve found that a little does go a long way.  The conditioner is really smooth and feels luxurious but I have had to apply this liberally to ensure it goes through all of my hair.  Both smell absolutely amazing!  Adam even went into the bathroom afterwards and asked if I had been lighting candles in there.

Before blowdrying, I applied the Macadamia Shine oil Treatment through my hair, avoiding the roots as advised.  Once dry my hair felt so smooth, even without straightening it! The ends definitely seemed to be tamed and smoother than usual too.

The Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Deep Conditioner comes in a single use packet.  I kept this on for 10 minutes and it seriously worked wonders on my hair!  It made it smoother than ever!

I’ve really enjoyed reviewing this hair care range and I’m actually looking forward to buying some of the other HASK products as they do have some other ranges that I think will be great for my unruly hair! Check out their full range here 🙂

Sunday Sevens #71

Last week was the first week of my big health kick! I’m hoping to eat healthier and work out more – I’ve even signed up for a glow in the dark foam 5k run…eeekk! Maisy and Buzz have had their first full week with only Adam and I in the apartment, and I’m so pleased that they are getting along nicely. I don’t quite agree with them waking me up at 7am though!

1. My new combination cooker arrived! 🙂 It’s a pressure cooker and a slow cooker; I’m already in love with it! I have so much more motivation in a morning and I prefer to prepare our meals then, so slow cooker cooking is perfect for me!

Goals: January 2016

I sat down last week to review the goals that I set for myself in December and realised that even though I only set four small goals, I was probably a little ambitious given the Christmas season, my parents coming to stay, us taking a holiday & getting a new puppy!  With that being said, this post is quite a short one as I didn’t really make that much progress on the goals set in December!

Goals for January:

  1.  I’m almost finished with one more colour on the Westie cross  stitch!  I’ve not included a photo this time around as you really can’t see the colour progress!

2.  The vintage dress didn’t get finished in December so that remains on my list of makes.  I also need to repair a doggy car seat, make covers for dog crate mats & make some coasters for our living room using the fabric I received in my #stitchingsanta present.

Christmas done! New Year done! Parents home!…and relax! 🙂 As much as I love having visitors and celebrating over the holidays, it isn’t half tiring! My parents went home yesterday after their 3 week stay so we have had a very relaxed weekend and now we will settle back into our little routine. I should imagine that there will now be more sewing craft photographs back in my future Sunday Sevens posts. Here are my photos from the last week! 🙂

1. I FINALLY managed to get a good photo of the dogs together, and me of course!

Hello There 2016!

A new year means a ‘new year’ post of course.  I’ve already read lots of resolution, goal & list posts and I must admit that I really enjoy reading them.  I find it so interesting to see how people evaluate their lives and review them to move forward in the following year.

The last year was the first full year where I blogged from January to December.  I’ve really loved every minute of it.  When I started blogging, I originally thought that my blog would be based on sewing and travelling; however, i’ve found that my Sunday Sevens and monthly goals posts have added more of a broader lifestyle theme to the blog with sewing running through too.  I’ve also enjoyed reviewing a few products here and there, and I do feel like I’ve only chosen things to review that I like rather than whatever is available out there.

Happy New Year everyone! Thank you so much for all of your anniversary wishes 🙂 We enjoyed Las Vegas a lot, we walked a lot and now we are resting a lot to recover! I hope you’ve all had a great start so far to 2016…I know we have!

1. This was the view from our room. 😀 We were very lucky when we arrived as we had been upgraded to an executive suite! It had 2 bathrooms!! :-O
