I absolutely love dungarees on children! Though, when I say ‘dungarees’ here in Alabama, no-one knows what I’m on about. They’re called rompers or jumpers here. Crazy. 😛 Anyway, this Kwik Sew pattern is just adorable and it’s one that I just couldn’t wait to make for Rosie. I had acquired a random piece of pink fabric that had dark brown mini polka dots all over it. I actually thought that the fabric was like a baby cord but it really wasn’t. I must have imagined that at some point!
With 6 pattern pieces, I was looking forward to this being quite a quick make. I actually enjoyed looking at the instruction sheets too as they were printed in color. I don’t recall ever seeing color instruction sheets from the ‘Big 4’ pattern companies so that excited me quite a lot! Even though the instructions were in color, I found a few parts in there that weren’t clear at all. From previous experience I had enough knowledge to get me by but I would imagine that if you were a beginner, some of these instructions would appear to be a little tricky.
I really like how these are finished. They look neat and professional. The pant section is nicely tucked and contained within the lined bodice so the only seams you can see from the inside are the side seams of the pants.
This was my second time using poppers (or press studs) on a garment so I treat myself to a proper set of pliers. It took me a minute to work out how to use these too but once I’d got the hang of it, I was applying them quickly. The seam where the press studs are placed was reinforced with bias binding. Another technique that I had never seen used before!
These dungarees are probably my favorite make for Rosie so far! They are unbelievably cute…though once again, it was unbelievably hard to get photos of her wearing them!

These are just adorable 💕 love the poppers – they look so neat and professional. I’ll have to plan some projects so I can have a go with mine too! You could definitely sell these if you could get a production line going 🥰
