The Tent-Like Staple Dress

With my recent success at using printed PDF patterns, I bought the April Rhodes Staple Dress pattern.  I had seen this over on Camilla’s blog and loved the shape, and she had told me that it was a fairly easy make.  Sounded great to me!  I’ve had the dress below (sale special from New Look!) in my wardrobe for about 5 years and it’s still one of my favourites; the shape is just sooo comfy and flattering!  I had high hopes for this one!

New Lines from eShakti + Coupon Code For YOU!!

A little while ago I was given the chance to pick & review a garment from eShakti.  I blogged about the dress here but will update my review now by letting you know that the dress has been worn on multiple evenings out!  It’s soooo comfy , extremely good quality and very flattering on me!

A Lovely Make

After deciding that I want more tops for my wardrobe, I set out making view C of the 1810.  I chose a silky polyester type material… I know…all of my current fabrics are some sort of silky polyester!  This pattern appealed to me because it’s the style of top (& dress) that I like to wear – not figure hugging but drawn in at the waist.

Another view, Another Favourite!

My last make was the 1589a top with the peep hole back. Even though I have since altered the straps slightly, I really like the fit and style of it. I’m after a few tops that are light and not too long, allowing me to wear them with jeans, skirts or shorts. As the fit was nice and the top itself was relatively easy to make, I decided on giving view B a shot last week.
