Sunday Sevens #54

Well, it’s been a hot one here this week. I’m so desperate for cooler weather, Autumn leaves and pumpkins. I’ve not actually been that busy this week…and when we did go out, I completely forgot to take photographs! Doh! This week I’ve only got 6 fumbled together pics. :-/

1. I was very eager to get my first pair of trousers made. I really like them! I will do better pictures and a thorough run through for a blog post soon.

Bonnell Dresses: My First Pattern Alterations

Bonnell dresses

Just over a month ago, I made my first Bonnell dress from Dixie DIY.  I knew that this was the dress I was going to make for my Art Gallery Fabric project so I really wanted to make the fit of the dress perfect.  For the very first dress, I used a pink & green floral cotton with a plain purple cotton lining.  I shortened the bodice pattern by 1 inch as I’ve now gathered that I need to do this for most dress bodices.  The rest of the pattern was cut out in a size 10.

Goals: September 2015

Even though I was quite late in posting my goals for August, I feel like I made great progress with them and met the majority.

I have really started to make use of the planner I purchased – I’m even starting to decorate it and personalise it more for me.  Some planner pages (search Pinterest) are crazy organised and so pretty.  I’m not sure I’ll ever get there with having themed weeks but mine is definitely organised.  I’m currently using it to plan meals, chores, crafting projects, sewing and blog posts.  I’m officially rubbish at drinking water so I’m trying to record what I drink in the hope that it will make me realise that I’m not drinking enough.  I also find it useful to write down which pen pal letters have been sent & received on certain days too.

Sunday Sevens #53

Here we are – the first post into the second year of Sunday Sevens! Woohoo!
Last week’s post was the giveaway so I haven’t actually shown any of my photos for 2 weeks. So these photos are from the last 2 weeks and there’s more than 7 too! Enjoy 🙂

1. We had a trip to the Melting Pot and I enjoyed the cheese & chocolate courses far too much!

Sunday Sevens #52 – Happy 1 Year Anniversary **GIVEAWAY CLOSED**

So here we are! One year in! ONE WHOLE YEAR OF SUNDAY SEVENS BLOG POSTS! I can’t actually believe that we’ve reached this far…I actually thought that I would give up half way through but I enjoy posting Sunday Sevens so much…how could I possibly stop posting?!

52 weeks ago Sunday Sevens began. A little blog series where I shared 7 photographs from my week and invited other bloggers to join me. Now one year on, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all who have joined in with Sunday Sevens. Many bloggers have joined in with posting their own Sunday Sevens; some every week, some for part of the year & some whenever they can. It has been an absolute pleasure to read about what people get up to in the week and it has been great to make some blogging buddies along the way. So to everyone who has been a part of Sunday Sevens, whether blogging, reading or commenting – THANK YOU!

30 Days Of Sewing With Art Gallery Fabrics: The Bonnell Dress

Last month I was invited to be involved in 30 Days Of Sewing With Art Gallery Fabrics – to say I was excited is an understatement!  Throughout the month of September, they will be sharing beautiful projects that have been made with their beautiful range of fabrics.

I chose to make the Bonnell dress from DixieDIY: a gathered skirt dress with triangular cut outs on the bodice.  I had a really hard time choosing fabrics because all the new collections are just gorgeous! The one that jumped out at me the most was the Anna Elise collection by Bari.J.  The look book for this collection is just adorable!  After narrowing it down to this collection, I chose the Wind Melody Carmin for the main fabric and the Rythmic Hatch Vivid for the dress lining – both cotton.
