Quite often I end up feeling a little bit guilty in the evenings or weekends if I am sewing or crafting. Without making him sound boring, Adam hasn’t really got any hobbies at the moment. Everything that he would normally spend his time doing just isn’t available to him at the moment. His motocross bike and Playstation are in the UK and we haven’t got a garage either so he hasn’t got any projects going on. He doesn’t at all make me feel bad…I just can’t help it sometimes! However, that all changed last weekend! He has been doing quite a lot of research and making a list of projects that he wants to complete. On that list was a lamp made out of pipe fittings – a small project that he can complete in the apartment.

Sunday Sevens #21
This is a bit of a late one today…it is still Sunday in the USA though! I really can’t believe it is February today! Already!! This week has been a strange one as things have been quiet on the paperwork/ sorting side of things. Visa paperwork has been submitted and we just have to wait. Our UK house is on the market so we just have to wait for viewings. We have also sorted the container to ship our belongings over the the US; we just have to wait for them. I don’t like waiting. I like to be in control of everything and I can’t control any of these things. It has actually been nice to just catch up with a few things this week!
1. On Sunday, we visited an antique store on the other side of the bay. It has always intrigued me as it is called “Alice’s Wonderland”! What a great name! They had some gorgeous stuff in but I held back and only purchased a couple of vintage Hoover Dam postcards. I am building my collection of vintage PC’s, mainly of places we have visited.
Talented Tuesday Link Party – No. 12

Welcome to Talented Tuesday No. 12!
Last week was super busy for us at home, so I publicly apologising for lack of social media and blog posts! We are currently selling our house back in the UK and we totally underestimated how complicated it would be! We are hoping that all the paperwork is now done and dusted, for now anyway! In between emails and phone calls, I managed to get a couple of items made and we had a lovely Saturday by the bay.
Keep linking up and showing off your talents! I love spending time reading all the things you guys are sharing with us… thank you!

The Dress That Almost Wasn’t Blogged About… & a Tilly Brigitte Scarf
Back in November I made a dress from my vintage stash using this pattern. It’s the Simplicity 8541 from back in 1969…I could have submitted it for the 2014 vintage pledge but I didn’t.

This was my first time using a polyester knit for a garment and it just didn’t go smoothly. I couldn’t get the collar to sit right, the pleat had disappeared and it was too tight. It was put into the cupboard and forgotten about. However, I got it out to try on earlier this week as I wanted to use the left over material for something else I had in mind. I put it on and then wondered what I had been fussing about when I made it. The collar isn’t a disaster, it’s ok and it wasn’t as tight as I remembered it being! So here I am today, blogging about it!

Talented Tuesday Link Party – No. 11

Welcome to Talented Tuesday No. 11!
I loved last week’s link up! There were so many great posts and so much talent was displayed! I’ve been back into the swing of blogging this week and have got a couple of things made too. I don’t know about you, but I always have so many ideas buzzing about in my head… I just don’t know where to start. I think we all have an endless craft list!
Before we link up, I just need to remind everyone about one of the rules to the link party that seems to be forgotten frequently, only 3 links per blogger please!
We really love to see what everyone links up, but please respect your fellow bloggers and our rules.
Oooooh Postcards!
I think I am the only person that I know of who gets excited over postcards! Yes, that’s right, real excitement! I love them ❤ I wrote about Postcrossing and Swap-bot a few months ago. I have now started my own little postcard collection. I select some to keep and have also got ones that I send out. I recently got a few sets bought for me to send, but I honestly don’t think that I can send them to other people….is that sad?! Rhetorical question…please don’t answer!
Until I started looking, I never really realised that you could buy books of postcards or collections. I always thought that they only came individually. My first postcard book came from Amazon as a ‘nearly new’ book, and it has Westies in it! Who wouldn’t love a postcard with a Westie on!
