Sunday Sevens #72

My my, have you seen all that snow on the East coast of the US?! Luckily we just had the wind and rain from that storm but my thoughts definitely go out to all the people who are stuck in their homes for a while!

It’s turned really cold for us this week though…I’ve even had to put the heating on! I finally feel like we are back to our normal routine this week, and I’ve actually managed to get quite a bit done around the house & with ongoing projects too.

Here are my seven photographs from this week – mainly doggy photos!

1/2. Maisy and Buzz have started to be even closer to each other this week. Buzz really made me giggle with the way he was laying on the sofa so I had to take a photo!

Goals: January 2016

I sat down last week to review the goals that I set for myself in December and realised that even though I only set four small goals, I was probably a little ambitious given the Christmas season, my parents coming to stay, us taking a holiday & getting a new puppy!  With that being said, this post is quite a short one as I didn’t really make that much progress on the goals set in December!

Goals for January:

  1.  I’m almost finished with one more colour on the Westie cross  stitch!  I’ve not included a photo this time around as you really can’t see the colour progress!

2.  The vintage dress didn’t get finished in December so that remains on my list of makes.  I also need to repair a doggy car seat, make covers for dog crate mats & make some coasters for our living room using the fabric I received in my #stitchingsanta present.

Christmas done! New Year done! Parents home!…and relax! 🙂 As much as I love having visitors and celebrating over the holidays, it isn’t half tiring! My parents went home yesterday after their 3 week stay so we have had a very relaxed weekend and now we will settle back into our little routine. I should imagine that there will now be more sewing craft photographs back in my future Sunday Sevens posts. Here are my photos from the last week! 🙂

1. I FINALLY managed to get a good photo of the dogs together, and me of course!

Sunday Sevens #56

What a lousy week we’ve had! It rained at the start of the week and then went cold and miserable. I didn’t think I would be getting my cardigans and jumpers out this early! With it being miserable, we haven’t actually made it out that much this week so I don’t have very exciting photos. I’ve spent the last few days not feeling great either so I’ve only just got around to commenting and pinning the Sunday Sevens posts from last week – sorry guys! I’m feeling much better today and hoping to be much more productive this week…including blogging about the trousers I made ages ago. 🙂

1. Maisy decided to hide again and I found her snuggled on a dining room chair.

Maisy Puppy!

This time last week I was getting very excited because we had been given the ok to go and meet a little Westie puppy!

We had been looking around for a while for puppies but the thought of getting an 8 week old puppy was a little daunting.  I had never looked after such a young puppy before!  Growing up, we always had dogs around us.  My first dog, Tess, was a mixed breed and lived until she was 17!  We then had Nesbitt, the retired greyhound and when Adam and I got our first house, we rescued a 6 year old Westie called Winnie.  Winnie now lives with Adam’s dad, who spoils her rotten!

We came across a breeder who was 2 hours away in Florida.  She posted about an older Westie puppy (15 weeks) who had been returned to her because she was too much like a ‘puppy’.  We were told that the puppy was too much for the previous owner to handle so she kept her in a crate all day.  When we saw the little puppy we could tell that she had been confined because her paws and legs were stained from being in her own mess 😦  This made me very sad.

We knew that she would take just as much work as a young puppy but I’m in the position to do that at the moment.  When we arrived, Maisy came straight to us and fussed us so much.  She let us both pick her up and then jumped up at us when we put her down.  Needless to say, she came with us!
