Sunday Sevens 2018 #1

It really does feel like such a long time since I last wrote a Sunday Sevens post but I’m starting the year as I plan to go on. Today’s post is a little bit of a catch up of little things from the last couple of months and in true tradition, it’s a day late!

It was my birthday back in December and Adam bought me a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I’d been eyeing one up for a while and had heard a lot of great things about them. I’ve had a basic mixer for a while but as it was one from the UK, the voltage was different so it didn’t mix very well. I was very pleased to get this and it’s made baking so much quicker!

Sunday Sevens #68

There we go…didn’t it go quickly! Only another 11 months until the festivities begin again 😀 I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and enjoyed it spending with your family and friends.
As this post goes live, Adam and I are actually living it up in Las Vegas celebrating our first wedding anniversary! I’m hoping that all the photographs appear nicely and the rest of the post is in order…if not…tough…I don’t get back home until Tuesday! 🙂

1. We have been well and truly stuffed this week with all the food we’ve eaten!  Isn’t that what the run up to Christmas is about though?!  Here we are at our local bar – can you tell which one of us has had a drink…or 2?

Christmas Jumpers & a Day Trip to Dauphin Island

Both sets of parents and my brother came to visit for Christmas.  It was busy but nice to see them.  Even though we Skype them almost every week, it’s much better to see them in person and give them a good old hug.  It was our first time cooking for them all and it actually went pretty well.  I only burnt the pigs in blankets!  All the men donned Christmas jumpers and Sam had an extra special hat.

I love this photo… no-one is looking!

Post Christmas Bargains

I have always been one for post-Christmas sales.  For around 5 years running, I would go to our local shopping centre, Meadowhall, for when it opened on Boxing day.  We would have a few hours shopping and would then trundle off home with many bargains, mainly clothes and Christmas items.  Last year, I did the sales on December 26th but did them online, in my pyjamas with a cup of tea to hand.

This year I didn’t do any shopping on Boxing Day…AT ALL!!  But I did go a few days later 😀

I took our Mums up to my local Joanns Fabric & Craft store.  I actually didn’t think that there would be much left as it was 5 days after Christmas.  However, we had a good search and found some great buys that I have just got to share with you!

I love the look of vintage blown decorations.  I found these remakes at $2!!

A Plethora of Presents

December was a good month.  It was my birthday, Christmas and the time when our parents began their visit.  All of these meant that we/I were given a lot of presents, which was lovely and very kind of the ‘givers’.  I wanted to share a few of the items received as many of them are sewing related or quite unique.

First up, Adam got me this super cool Alexander Henry fabric.  There is a yard so I’m hoping to make a bag or a top out of it.
