What could be better than a sewing themed secret santa?… I hear you…nothing!!
When I read that my friend, Camilla, had signed up for the #sewingsanta over on Lisa’s blog, I was gutted that I couldn’t participate because I was in the USA. 🙁 I even had a little strop! However, Camilla then told me that she had Jessie comment on her blog saying that she couldn’t get involved either as she lived in Singapore. Well, a couple of emails later, I had arranged with Jessie that we should do our own international swap between us two! 😀
I have already seen that Jessie has received the package I sent and loved it! Read about it here.
Her parcel arrived a few days before Christmas. I was patient and I put it under our tree. When Christmas morning came, it was one of the first presents I opened…with excitement of course!
Jessie included a little note to explain each item.
Whoooops! Another late Sunday Sevens…if I changed it to Monday Sevens, I’m sure I would still post late 😀
So, here are 7 photographs from my week. I’m sure that everyone has had a super busy week too. We headed to New Orleans for a couple of nights, hosted our first Christmas dinner and got married!
I hope that all of my readers have had a great, fun filled week too. 🙂
1. On our first night in New Orleans, we headed to the Preservation Hall for the jazz band. Unfortunately it was too dark inside to get a good photograph with an iPhone 🙁 The performance was AMAZING and our pre-booked seats were well worth the extra money. The queue to get in went right down the road and they ended up turning people away!
This week, we have all been busy sharing little bits of Christmas with you all… you may notice that our hostess projects for this week are themed because it’s almost CHRISTMAS!! I am preparing for our parents and my brother to visit for 3 weeks. Though they are not staying with us, we have still tried to be as Christmassy as possible. Adam’s parents arrive tonight and mine arrive tomorrow with my brother. :-0 Next week, we are skipping a link up with it being so close to Christmas. Our next Talented Tuesday link party will be on the 30th December! Make sure to follow us below and keep up to date with what we are getting up to over the Christmas period. 🙂
This year our Christmas will be like no other. For the first time in 26 years, I won’t be having Christmas in the UK. Our parents and my brother are coming to visit us for 3 weeks and we are having Christmas in our little apartment. Yes, that is 7 of us in our 1 bed apartment for Christmas dinner. We only have 2 bar stools but have managed to borrow a table to seat 6, so one of us will have to perch on a corner!
Over the years we have collected decorations that are special to us. However, we didn’t bring anything Christmassy over to the US with us. We managed to get a bargain of a Christmas tree from Target; a pre-lit 6ft tree for $15. We also bought a packet of plain baubles as I am a little against glitter (it just gets everywhere!) and some candy canes. When we first arrived in the US, we had a trip to New Orleans and we bought 2 metal skull decorations from a quaint little store. These were added to our little for their first Christmas.
Another hectic week with one thing and another, though I’m pretty sure that this time of year is busy for everyone! My Sunday Sevens aren’t designated to each day this week – they are just collection of things I wanted to share!
1. I won this in a giveaway! Very useful of course!
Woohoo! Week 7! And we are even closer to Christmas! This week we welcome our New host, Sydney from over at Tastefully Frugal. Make sure to follow her on the social media platforms below. She is taking over from Emily at Table & Hearth who has hosted with us for the last 6 weeks. A big thank you must go to Emily for the effort she has put into this link party!
