Another one ticked off the #2018MakeNine list!
I had a really hard time deciding on which version of this Colette Wren dress to make. I love anything without sleeves so version 1 appealed to me the most. However, after reading a few reviews, I realized that the skirt might not be so flattering on my tummy. The gathered skirt on version 2 looks lovely and flattering though so I decided to combine the two and use the bodice of version 1 with the skirt of version 2.

Camilla, over at Making & Marking, had sent me a few children’s patterns to have a go at sewing up for Rosie. One of them was the Simplicity 2461 dress. The pattern comes with quite a few cute dress styles and there are layering options too. I chose to make View B and actually managed to choose some fabric from my stash that was quite similar to the main dress on the front of the pattern. I’m hoping that I can get some nice white seersucker to make the layered piece at some point too.

I’m joining in with Rochelle’s #MakeNine challenge again for 2019. I really enjoyed having goals to meet last year and managed to make seven out of the nine. Having a plan to work along to really works for my organized little brain. As you can see above, I’ve chosen a mix of patterns for both Rosie & I. Last year I chose a few patterns that were PDF patterns and this year, I’ve chosen patterns from my physical stash instead. I’m really looking forward to following everyone else’s Make Nine challenges too. Let me know if you are doing the challenge and drop your link in the comments!

Another catch up blog post for a garment I made a few months ago! I’m having to make do with garment photos as they are as I haven’t had the time to take any photos with me wearing the garments! Ooops!
One of the dresses in my #2018MakeNine plans was the Sew Over It Eve dress. I chose this dress to make as it looks quite flattering and has a wrap bodice that would possibly work easily with nursing Rosie. For the bodice/ sleeves I used the pattern for version 1 and used the straight skirt pattern from version 2. I had a nice light cotton in my stash, which I believe was from Joanns…probably from the clearance section too. It’s a great breathable fabric for the hot weather we have over here.

At the start of 2018, I joined in with the #2018makenine challenge for the first time. I tried to include a variety of makes and a little something for everyone in the house. I also wanted to make sure that I picked my projects from a variety of sources; paper patterns, pattern books, PDFs & free online patterns.

I realize that, once again, I’ve not written any blogs for a little while. Life gets in the way too easily! Anyway, I have managed to get a little bit of sewing done over the last few months and I’m itching to share my makes with you. I’ve actually paused my sewing production at the moment to try and catch up with these blog posts!
This was one of my first makes of 2018…I just never blogged about it! Now I’m catching up with blogging about my makes, I thought that it needed to be shared. In all honesty, I have only made one of these even though I had the intention to make one for each Maisy and Buzz.
